Cole Haan Hand-Stained Pebble Grain Leather Kindle Cover with Hinge , Saddle Tan

Unlike some of the low reviewers here, I received a non-defective item. The leather is flawless and looks even better than the picture. However, my gripe with this, after having used it with my kindle, is that it doesn’t secure the kindle to the back cover. The problem with this is that should someone accidentally pull the back cover away from the kindle it will snap the kindles edges.
Three other things I don’t like about this is the name stitched on the front, the floppy cover and the business card holder on the inside. The Cole Haan stitch in the front is annoying. I already paid for the item, must I be a walking commercial for the company also? The floppy cover is just silly. And while the business card holder may seem like a good idea, it actually puts unnecessary bulk to the case and can possibly press up against the kindle create more focused pressure where the keys are.
It’s a pity because the leather is nice and I actually made some personal modifications to mine, adding elastic strips to the corners and removing the unnecessary stitched leather on the inside and outside front cover, but now it looks old and abused meanwhile I just got it. But better that than the way it came.
I wouldn’t recommend this product and think there are probably better, cheaper and safer, alternatives out there.

I’ve had the Kindle black, hard cover for a year. I wanted to upgrade to something more plushy. I received the new cover for Christmas. While the new cover feels great, and looks great, the floppy front cover is a real problem. When I hold the Kindle, in the new cover, I have to find a way to support the front cover…in other words, you can’t hold it like a regular book (with a hard cover).
I thought of trying to put a piece of cardboard in the front cover, but thought that probably wasn’t a good idea.. Guess I’ll just have to deal with it.Cole Haan Hand-Stained Pebble Grain Leather Kindle Cover with Hinge (Fits 6″ Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Saddle Tan

After spending some time reading reviews, I decided to pay the higher price and selected this brown leather Cole Haan cover. This attractive cover fits perfectly, feels luxurious, opens and folds back well during use, and somehow stays closed when it should. I’m actually reading while lying in bed for the first time in my life thanks to my new Kindle and this beautiful cover. I could not be more pleased. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I received the Kindle for christmas and was very excited about getting something I really wanted for a change. However, I immediately experienced a feeling of guilt. My mother instilled a great love for books and I kinda feel like I was selling out. No more long leisurely trips to my favorite book store. Ending the relationships I had developed over the years with the little old ladies at the bookstore. The fear of someone stealing the Kindle off the front seat of my convertible while the top is down (which it is 300 days a year) god knows no one has stolen a “BOOK” out of my car!! Anyway, the leather cover I purchased has helped reduce the guilt. The feel of the Cole Haan leather in my hand is my new adult blankie sorry mom!!!

This is a terrific cover. The leather is extremely soft but durable. I saw other less expensive kindle covers but once I saw this one and read the reviews I knew it was the one for me. It fits comfortably in your hand and is not heavy. The kindle fits securely inside. My husband bought me the kindle for Christmas but let me pick out my cover. Once he saw it he agreed that even though it was more expensive than some others it was well worth it. One word of caution for anyone who is a perfectionist, since this is a pebble grain the finish is not perfectly smooth ,also it does have some natural marks which adds to the overall character. I also love the saddle tan finish it’s not too dark or too light. Also the cover does fold back if you like to fold back your book covers. I do agree with another reviewer that the inside pocket should be a little larger to accomodate a passport However it is large enough to hold your business card or other ID. You’re worth it splurge on this cover!
